Fully rebuilt steering box, fits all Bay window 68-72 (anything low indicators) RIGHT HAND DRIVE

This is a used original box which has been completely stripped and cleaned, the original worm meticulously inspected and checked for wear, then we machine the case and output shaft to allow 2 phosphor bronze bearings to be used for long term wear and guaranteed no play on the output shaft. Then built up using new bearings, steering peg, bushes, oil seals and shims. Comes level checked with Penrite steering box lube and roughly adjusted but needing fine adjustment once fitted. 

We machine all the cases and output shafts to accept 2 phosphor bronze bushings for long term wear and guaranteed no play on the output shaft.

This includes a £200.00 surcharge which will be refunded if we receive your old unit back and the case is in good condition. 

PLEASE NOTE- If you are removing your old unit, the drop arm can be a nightmare to remove, please be careful not to damage the case of the steering box or the thread on the outpt shaft, WE CANNOT ACCEPT DAMAGED CASES FOR SURCHARGE REFUNDS!! As long as the threads on the output shaft and the case is good we will honour the surcharge refund no matter how worn it is, but we cannot work with damaged casings. If you are unsure then please take it to a garage or call us for removal advice.

Also when fine adjusting the box once fitted please follow a manual, it needs to be adjusted only at dead centre on the ground. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE PLAY OFF DEAD CENTRE AS THAT IS HOW THE BOX WAS DESIGNED, the worm is concentric so that at full lock there is much more travel than at dead centre.
